Adobe just announced on the FAQ page they are removing Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix on June 21, 2021. If you already have either Photoshop Mix or Photoshop Fix installed on your iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone... guess what? You still retain access to these amazing apps. Photoshop Mix and Fix will no longer be available to download or receive further updates. The advice from Adobe is to try Adobe Photoshop Express for free. It is a freemium model, offering some features for free and a monthly or annual subscription to access all the tools. Yes, another app that has moved to a subscription model!
If you have been watching your photography app updates lately, you will have noticed that Photoshop Express has added a lot of updates over the last few months, identical to tools inside Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix.
If you managed to download Photoshop Mix prior to June 21, check out my YouTube tutorial – here.
The new-look Adobe Photoshop Express is broken into 5 sections; Edit, Mix, Collage, Retouch and Capture.
Edit: On top of more than 100 looks and overlays, Photoshop Express gives you the ability to edit raw photos, add a smile, smooth skin, healing, dehaze, denoise, vignette, selective editing and perspective control.
Mix: Blend effects, looks, stickers, text and borders.
Collage: create many different types of collages using various themes and layouts.
Capture: this camera replacement app has artistic filters and live face art.
If you are not keen on paying the $7.99 per month or $56.99 annual subscription, I have recommendations for you.
Photoshop Fix replacement options
My three favourite free photo editor apps available on both Android and iPhone are Snapseed, Picsart and Adobe Lightroom. Yes, PicsArt and Lightroom mobile are also freemium apps. However, they offer a lot of tools for free making it onto my list of top six recommended apps.

Photoshop Mix replacement options
Photoshop Mix was my recommendation apps available on all devices for blending photos and creating double exposure effects. Now... I make the recommendations for Android and iPhone users separately. If you have access to Google Play, the stand out app is BlendMe by Gajrup apps and PicsArt. For iPhone users, there are many more quality apps available. My favourite is Superimpose X by Pankaj Goswami.
Collage alternative apps
We are spoilt for options for collage apps. If you are already using PicsArt on Android and iPhone, you will already know it is a great option. On my iPhone, my preference is FrameMagic an iOS-only app.
Conclusion
If you are reading this before June 21, jump on board and grab Photoshop Mix and Photoshop Fix before they are no longer available. Adobe has generously allowed us to keep using the apps requiring Adobe ID and access to continue photo computation in the cloud.
Adobe is recommending you pay a subscription to use the same tools and more inside Photoshop Express. If you are prepared to pay for a low price subscription, my recommendation is Adobe Lightroom and have a couple of extra apps to fill in the void: TouchRetouch, PicsArt and Snapseed.
